"Now may God,
the inspiration and fountain of hope,
fill you to overflowing
with uncontainable joy and perfect peace
as you trust in Him.
And may the power of the Holy Spirit
continually surround your life
with His super-abundance
until you radiate hope."
Romans 15:13, The Passion Translation
I am inserting this little addition a few days after I originally posted the verse above. This morning I was reading a devotional by Joseph Prince called 100 Days of Right Believing and he had some thoughts on Hope.
Here's what I gleaned:
The word Hope in the Greek is "elpis" which is defined as "confident expectation" or "the happy anticipation of good." Pastor Prince says "hope is a certain, joyful, confident expectation of good," and that hope springs in your heart when you believe that God truly loves you. He says, "I can have true hope—a certain, joyful, confident expectation of good—when I rightly believe how deadly God loves me."
On to finish my thoughts from a few days ago . . . . .
